The children have really been enjoying our topic. Everyone has really expanded their imagination and are coming up with some great city landscapes for their superheroes to live and rescue people from. We have been using various building blocks and areas of the classroom to talk about what cities look like and the different heights of the buildings. For our art/math project we first made swirl patterns on our paper to show the sunset background. Next we choose from a variety of different sized buildings and placed them close together to create the city landscape. The children talked about how many tall buildings they had as well as how many short buildings. To complete the project each student practiced using scissors by cutting out their own windows. Some children choose to put 1 large window on each building while others chose to put many small windows on their buildings. Take a look at the amazing art work everyone did! Great job

Welcome back! Superhero city!
Welcome back everyone! It has been an exciting week in Kindergarten as we have started a new and very fun topic, 'Superheroes.' The kids have been talking about some of their favorite superheroes as well as coming up with new superheroes and thinking of ways they can help and save the world. It is always great listening to the kids expanding their imagination and using their communication skills to talk about their own superhero characters. Everyone has been working on their story building skills by using our small world superhero city. Take a look at some of the activities we have enjoyed throughout the week!
Here is a great superhero song we have been learning about at school.
Looking forward to more superhero fun next week!
