Friday 11th May

We have had a fun week this week in Maths. We have started to learn about weight and have been experimenting with the scales to find out how many cubes, teddy bears or blocks different things weigh in the classroom.

We have finished our unit in English on persuasion to an end and we came up with a persuasive sentence to sell an orange highlighter. You can see the learning journey we went on on the board outside the classroom.

In Inquiry we have been learning about plants and how they grow and now we are going to start a small case study on the mangrove forests near Bangkok to learn more about the environment they grow in, the problems they face and what our responsibility towards the forests are. We have been busy making our front covers for our project.

Friday 4th May

We have had a busy week but as always we start the week with our Mindfulness Monday. We learnt about slowing down and stopping our thoughts this week, it is much harder than we thought it would be.

In English we have been learning about adverts and how they use bossy verbs, adjectives and relate them to our senses to persuade us to buy something.

In Inquiry, we have had lots of fun this week learning about plants and it was great to have one of gardeners join us to teach us about plants and how to care for them. We also got to plant our own seeds and we will watch them grow and keep a diary tracking their progress.
