RE Weekly Update: December 6th, to December 9th, 2016

Phonics/ writing	This week, we practiced blending some new words using the letters from unit 1 and unit 2 and played various games to help us remember our camera words.	Next week, we will review all our letters sounds covered this term. We will review words introduced this term and review all our camera words.
Math	This week, we used vocabulary describing quantity using the words ‘more’ or ‘less’.	Next week, we will have a basic introduction to addition by playing various games theme based on Christmas.
PSD	This week we talked about Christmas and discuss all the things that we know about Christmas.	During this lesson we will build a sleigh using various materials and learn how to work in a group.
Science	This week we talked about Christmas. Where it comes from and how we celebrate it.	Next week, we will have a discussion about toys all around the world and compare them to our favorite toys.
Art	This week we made elves hats for our Christmas show coming up. Throughout the week we had various crafts available around the classroom during child initiated periods based around the theme of Christmas.	Next week, we will make many crafts all around the theme of Christmas. We will make a snowman, decorate our Christmas tree, finger paint Christmas lights and decorate stockings.
Physical	Last week we decorated our Christmas tree!	Next week, we will play a game by throwing balls onto a snowman. We will work on good control and coordination of large and small movements.

Friday: Christmas Party in RE in the afternoon, feel free to come in you may bring snacks and drinks. Library borrowed books: Please return borrowed books before Tuesday in our class’s basket. Let's Celebrate Christmas!

This week it is all about Christmas!

We wrapped up gifts, decorated our Christmas tree,made various toys and objects, decorated baubles and our elves hats for our concert coming up . We were very busy elves this week!

We wrapped up gifts all by ourselves, using wrapping paper, tape and scissors. Then we wrote the name of the person we want to give our gift to on a gift tag.

We are making our elves hat for our Christmas concert!!!!

Lita, New Year and Ton-Aor were adding the last baubles to our Christmas tree.

RE Weekly Update: November 28th, to December 2nd, 2016

Phonics/ writing	This week, we continued learning our letters sounds in unit 2 and were introduced to 2 new letters sounds, f and h.  We practiced blending some new words using the letters from unit 1 and unit 2 and began learning our new camera words	Next week, We will continue to work on Unit 2 letter sounds. We will focus on working on Unit 2 camera words and on blending simple CVC words.
Math	This week, we worked on repeated and creating patterns using various objects.	Next week, we will look at using vocabulary describing quantity using the words ‘more’ or ‘less’.
PSD	This week we talked about birthdays and how to celebrate a birthday. What do we need to prepare for a birthday party; writing birthday cards, birthday invitations, wrapping up gifts and so forth.	During this lesson we will make a Christmas mind map and discuss all the things that we know about Christmas.
Science	This week we talked about past and present birthdays in our family and in the lives of family members.	Next week, we will talk about Christmas. What is Christmas? Why do we celebrate it and where does it come from? We will look into the nativity story and play various activities.
Art	This week we learned how to wrap up gifts and we made a birthday cake using various pieces of paper.	Next week, we will make elves hats for our Christmas show coming up. Throughout the week we will have various crafts available around the classroom during child initiated periods based around the theme of Christmas.
Physical	Last week we played the bean game. It’s a fun game that children love. It teaches them how to move confidently in a range of ways, safely negotiating space.	Next week, we will decorate our classroom’s Christmas tree. Please don’t tell anyone!
Notices and Events	Extra day for the Learning Journeys: you are welcome to come on Tuesday November 29th from 8:00-9:00 for a writing lesson. We made a birthday cake !!!! Happy Happy birthday!!

Happy Happy birthday!!!

This week for our art lesson we made a beautiful cake using a variety of colored paper. We traced candles and glue each layer for our cake from long to short.
