WEEKLY UPDATE


RE Weekly Update:  March 6th to March 10th, 2017
This Week 
Next Week
Phonics/
writing
This week, we were reviewed all our camera words playing word hunt, catch word games and many others.
Next week, we will review letter sounds and be introduced to 4 sounds ‘ll’, ‘ss’, ‘zz’ and ‘ff’. We will try to find words that make those sounds and practice blending (reading) 3 letter sound words.
Math
This week, we learned our number bonds to 10 (1 and 9 is 10, 8 and 2 is 10, 5 and 5 is 10)
Next week, we will be introduced to the concept of tens and ones. For example 26 and 2 tens and 6, 58 has 5 tens and 8 etc.
PSD
This week, we learned about safety rules in a city.
Next week, we will learn about the importance of keeping our hands to ourselves.
Science
This week, we learned about cities and towns. What can we find in a city and what are city made of.
Next week, we will learn about occupations and land transport.
Art
This week, we made our own city using various materials. We will make a map of our city and then add buildings, roads, bridges. This will be an ongoing project throughout the week.
Next week we will make firefighters trucks, hats and paint a train using a variety of techniques.
Physical
This week, we went outside and drew cities on the ground using chalk. (take a look at our blog for photographs)
Next week we will go on a firefighter obstacle course trying to rescue and save a house on fire!

Photo shoot on Monday March 6th: please have your child wear the Ascot uniform. Thank you.

Parent presentations next week: please being your child at 8:00 in the morning for parent’s presentations to avoid disturbing our guest’s presentation. Thank you.
