RE Weekly Update: November 7th, to November 11th, 2016

Phonics/ writing	This week, we started unit 2 and were introduced to 8 new letters sounds, b,d,r,l,f,h,I,u.  We practiced blending some new words using the letters from unit 1 and unit 2.  And we reviewed our camera words. (sight words/ tricky words)	Next week, We will continue to work on Unit 2 letter sounds and on blending simple cvc words. We will focus on the letter l and r in our writing letters.
Math	This week, we reviewed numbers from 1 to 20. We played various counting games, number recognition activities and putting numbers in order.	Next week, we will review 2D shapes through various hands on activities and use appropriate vocabulary to describe them.
PSD	This week we talked about being kind and respectful with others.	During this lesson we will have role play and learned about proper behavior when treating family members.
Science	This week we reviewed Halloween characters and reviewed our body parts and senses by comparing our differences.	Next week, we will be introduced to our new topic’ my family’ and we will draw our family tree. We will talk about our differences and use appropriate vocabulary to describe our family members.
Art	This week, for our final week following the Halloween spirit we traced our little hand and made a ghost out of cotton balls. For our second art project we painted a milk box and made our own haunted house! Spooky!	Next week, for our first lesson we will make a stick puppet of a family member. For our second lesson we will decorate our class mail box, decorate and paint an envelope and postcard for a family member that leaves far away from us.
Physical	This week we played various activities all around the topic of Halloween. We played the statue game to work on space awareness.	Next week, we will mime actions associated to our family life.
