WEEKLY UPDATE


RE Weekly Update: January 30th  to February 3rd, 2017
This Week 
Next Week
Phonics/
writing
This week, we kept on reviewing all the letters learned so far and were introduced to the letters ‘Kk’ and ‘Jj’. We practiced blending new 3 letter sound words and played various games using our phonic skills.
Next week, we will keep on blending words from our third unit and we will learn the letters ‘Yy’ and ‘Zz’. 
Math
This week, we learned how to read time and describe the time such as 1 o’clock, 2 o’clock, 3 o’clock. Then for our third lesson we traced and put in order the days of the week.
Next week, we will talk about positional language (left, right, next to, behind, under, on top etc.)
PSD
This week, we talked about sharing and taking turns. We also learned that children in the world speak different languages and look different from us.
During this lesson we will talk about people from the Netherlands.
Science
This week, we talked about the map of the world and its 7 continents. We colored each continent and made a map for our classroom.
Next week, we will learn about ‘The Netherlands’. We will look at the cities and landscapes. We will learn about the people that live there, how they look like, what language they speak, what food they eat, what they like to do there.
Art
This week, we soaked paper in water and experimented with watercolor. We painted the earth then cut and glued the 7 continents.
Next week, we will make windmills and paint with apples to make beautiful tulips.
Physical
This week, we worked on our fine motor skills and played with various activities.
Next week, we will learn that Dutch people ride bicycles everywhere so we will ride bicycles and have a race.
