WEEKLY UPDATE


RE Weekly Update: February 27th  to March 3rd, 2017

Phonics/
writing
This week, we were introduced to the letter sound ‘Vv’ and ‘Ww’ and we reviewed all the sounds learned this half term.
For the first week of term 2.2, we will be reviewing all the camera words learned so far.
Math
This week, we were introduced to Numicorn. We played various games using Numicorn all week.
For the first week of term 2.2, we will be learning number bonds.
PSD
This week, we talked about ‘respect’. What it means to be respectful to others and how to we treat people with respect.
For the first week of term 2.2, we will be learning about safety rules.
Science
This week, we were introduced to the country of ‘France’. We learned about the landscapes, cities, food, people and French language.
For the first week of term 2.2, we will be learning about cities and towns. What can we find in a city and what are city made of.
Art
This week, we made an Eiffel tower and paint a typical French hat called a ‘beret’. We also learned French songs and French greetings.
For the first week of term 2.2, we will make our own city using various materials. We will make a map of our city and then add buildings, roads, bridges. This will be an ongoing project throughout the week.
Physical
This week, we learned a French dance called ‘Sur le pond d’Avignon’ to work on large and small movements control as well as spatial awareness.
For the first week of term 2.2, we will learn about the sky train and will role play around the classroom on how to use the skytrain learning how to control small and large movements.

Occupations: week 9 March 6th and 10th we are inviting parents to come and talk about their profession to cover our week topic on ‘occupations’.
